New for 2017: Wifi Requirements
In order to assure a better convention experience for all of our exhibitors, and in accordance with the venue’s requirement that they be the sole Wifi provider, the rules prohibiting outside Wifi access must be strictly enforced by both GHC and the Duke Energy Convention Center. In other words, “rogue” devices which provide Wifi will not be permitted.
As always, we are committed to serving you, our greatly appreciated exhibitors, as best as we possibly can. To that end, we have negotiated a wireless internet connection special rate of $50/device for the three days of the convention. The rate is valid through April 10th, 2017. Please note that this represents a substantial discount, as the usual price is $159.99 per device.
- Pricing is $50 if you sign up by April 10th.
- Pricing is $75 if you sign up after April 10th.
- Pricing is $100 if you sign up at the convention.
What will it support?
The wireless internet service at the Midwest Homeschool Convention will support both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz.
Will the wireless internet be a secure internet service?
This is a secure standard internet service where you will get speeds of 1.5 Mbps upload and 1.5 Mbps download.
How will I receive my Wifi connection?
You will receive the SSID/Network name, Username, and the Password in your exhibitor packet when you check in to set up your booth space.

Interference or reliability issues Information
Wireless service is inherently vulnerable to interference from other wireless devices that transmit similar frequency. Smart City cannot guarantee that interference will not occur and is limited on the amount of support that can be provided in that instance. Smart City does NOT recommend wireless service for event-critical services such as registration, presentations, or product demonstrations. See above instructions on how to obtain a hard line internet connection.
If your company’s WiFi application is approved and payment is processed, all related payments for wireless internet service are non-refundable.
